Spotlight on Oconomowoc

2021-03-12T15:09:21-05:00March 12th, 2021|Maureen's Musings, News, Oconomowoc|

A big thank-you goes out to the city crews who have been diligent about shoveling off the skating rink on Fowler Lake.  It has provided hours of fun and entertainment not only to skaters and hockey players but also those of us who get to watch them on a regular basis. It brings another element of liveliness to our downtown which in turn has created a center for activities, stores, restaurants, and entertainment.  The spotlight is on downtown Oconomowoc. Let’s hope it keeps shining brightly for many years to come. Pre-Listing Repairs

2021-03-12T15:06:13-05:00March 12th, 2021|General, News, Selling a Home|

We all have a list of repair items around our houses that we have lived with for years and in most cases can be handled quickly and for little money. In most scenarios when you list your home the buyers will ask for the chance to have a home inspection conducted. This is where major defects can be found and sometimes those small things you have been living with will be brought to the attention of the buyers. Taking care of small things shows buyers that you have maintained your property. Just a couple of examples to get you started… Deep clean all surfaces. Tighten bolts on toilets. Repair torn window [...]

Our Community

2021-03-12T15:06:46-05:00March 12th, 2021|General, Maureen's Musings, News, Oconomowoc|

The Oconomowoc Area Foundation was only a sparkle in our eyes when a group first met to discuss the needs of our community.  It is so very exciting to see how that little sparkle has grown to be a very bright showing spot above us.  It is easy to look around the beautiful area where live in and not see or think about the fact that there are people and places that need help. We began to prioritize who we could serve and what we could do, as a group, to make this part of our little world a better place to live, work and recreate in.  It didn't take long to [...]

2021-03-12T14:58:59-05:00March 12th, 2021|Buying a Home, First-Time Home Buyers, General, News, Selling a Home|

Q: Why use Stapleton to buy or sell your home? A: Our Realtors chose to work at Stapleton because it is a small agency with a deliberate focus on providing our clients with personal service. We have a Google 5 star rating because of this focus. Q: Is Stapleton exclusive in what they sell: Lake properties, price range or residential. A: Stapleton Realtors can help to sell homes on a lake or off-water, in any price range, and have experience selling condos, vacant land or any other type of property you have to sell. Q:How should I choose a real estate company? A: Because this is a personal financial choice, you need a company in which you see a [...]

New Home, New Year

2021-01-19T15:37:02-05:00January 19th, 2021|Buying a Home, General, News, Selling a Home|

It is the new year we had all been looking forward to! New year, new start for so many hopes, dreams, and ideas. After being in your home so much more than usual over the past “Covid Months”, you are thinking you need a different scene, it would be hard to blame you. Interest rates are staying low as we head into the spring market which makes it a good time to buy. It also means that prices are up, so your home may be worth more than even a few months ago. Worth Exploring? Let us look closer. Selling your home today = more buyers because interest rates are low. More [...]

Imaginary

2021-01-19T15:34:16-05:00January 19th, 2021|Maureen's Musings, Selling a Home|

We all know the old saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”.  But never is it truer than when you are selling or buying a home.  Stapleton Realty takes that saying to heart using photos when marketing a property.  Some of the periodicals we place ads with pictures are: Exclusively Yours, Lakeshore Living and MKElifestyle Magazines. In addition, we are in many of the local publications and newspapers such as the Lake Country Now section of the Journal Sentinel, Oconomowoc Enterprise, Waukesha Freeman, as well as local School and Church Directories and Special Events boards and posters.  A simple photo of a home can peak someone’s interest enough to want them to [...]

Happy Holidays from Stapleton Realty

2020-12-15T15:00:50-05:00December 15th, 2020|General, Maureen's Musings|

It is out of care for all of you and our  greater community that we are going to pause our annual holiday party this year and hope to return to it next year in better times for such gatherings. In lieu of the party, we are going to be donating to the Oconomowoc Food Pantry. We ask that you drop off  non-perishable food items or a monetary donation at our office (112 N Main Street). While being together always makes us feel better, we hope that this giving effort will bring us together in  feeling good for helping others. Raise a glass or two of the Old Fashion Punch we serve each [...]

The Hub of the Home

2020-12-15T14:53:12-05:00December 15th, 2020|Buying a Home, General, Lake Homes, Selling a Home|

The Hub of the Home The kitchen is the hub of any home, a space that needs to be functional yet esthetically pleasing. Now more than ever, we are staying home, cooking more, and spending more time in our kitchens. It is the room listing agents describe in great detail…stunning granite countertops, gleaming stainless steel appliances, oversized islands, and custom walk-in pantries. Because renovating a kitchen can be a substantial financial undertaking, some sellers will make small updates just to freshen up the space.  Painting, changing out light fixtures, and adding a backsplash can breathe life into an outdated space. If your kitchen could have been featured in an episode of the Brady [...]

Thankful

2020-11-17T13:49:24-05:00November 17th, 2020|General, Maureen's Musings, News|

This year has seen an unprecedented change and disruption in the world and economy that none of us could have predicted. One thing that didn't change however is how incredibly thankful we at Stapleton Realty are to our buyers, sellers, and all the individuals that help us to be successful in our endeavors to do the best we can be in representing all of our Buyers and Sellers. We learned what it meant to be “Essential Workers” with video calls, virtual showings, safe practices, adjusting events, and pure resourcefulness to serve our clients.  In Lake Country, we saw residents and businesses supporting morale-encouraging new ways to adapt to unusual circumstances, and a general desire to [...]
