The Hub of the Home

The kitchen is the hub of any home, a space that needs to be functional yet esthetically pleasing. Now more than ever, we are staying home, cooking more, and spending more time in our kitchens. It is the room listing agents describe in great detail…stunning granite countertops, gleaming stainless steel appliances, oversized islands, and custom walk-in pantries. Because renovating a kitchen can be a substantial financial undertaking, some sellers will make small updates just to freshen up the space.  Painting, changing out light fixtures, and adding a backsplash can breathe life into an outdated space. If your kitchen could have been featured in an episode of the Brady Bunch, it may be time to meet with a kitchen designer to bring it up to date. Think timeless but current which will appeal to the widest range of prospective buyers.  If you want a pop of color, use it on the walls, artwork, or the island cabinetry. These are things that can easily be changed by the next owner.  It is challenging to determine the exact return on investment when it comes to home renovation but an updated kitchen is something that will grab the attention of buyers and in the meantime, you can enjoy it on a daily basis.
Bon Appetit!
